Description Keith Briscoe 2007-07-21 10:33:18 UTC
In addition to the "sleep" functionality, you should be able to configure your players to automatically turn themselves off (or set brightness=0) if they are stopped (not playing) AND idle for X minutes (like 30).

Reason--I try to be very conservative with the use of the VFD's, because I don't want them to die any earlier than necessary. So I don't have any OFF screensaver (brightness=0), and I dim the screen when idle. However, we have a new baby and like to listen to music while feeding. We often forget to hit the sleep button and the player stops itself at the end of the playlist. The player then just sits at the "stopped" screensaver for hours until we remember to turn it off. It'd be nice if there was some sort of configurable auto-sleep that only happened when nothing was playing and the system was idle.

check the powerSave and AutoDim plugins.

thanks.

PowerSave does exactly what I want. People make plugins for the darndest things!

Please close this bug if I can't.
