Description Neil Coburn 2007-07-13 11:04:09 UTC
In Server Settings/Behaviour there is an option to filter when browsing genres to only show the albums & tracks that match the selected genre; or to show any tracks and albums for an artist. The latter option doesn't work and irrespective of the option selected only albums within the browsed genre appear within artist

Is there any progress on this? I reported it 2 months ago, no news since.
Comment 2 Chris Owens 2007-09-12 13:33:23 UTC
Dan, could you try work with this user to see if you can get this working? If it is a bug, please also try to reproduce it in 7.0 to see if it exists there.

I appreciate your help!

Dan, was someone from support able to get in touch with this customer?
Comment 4 Neil Coburn 2007-09-19 06:20:11 UTC
I had an email from Anoop asking whether I'd tried ss 6.5.4. I replied that I have, but still see the bug. (I have tried a fresh reinstall and a rescan too). I asked what else I could try, and haven't received a reply.

Bugs like this are often caused by some kind of tagging problem, either in Slimserver or in the files. Would it be possible for you to use the "Create a new attachment" feature here in Bugzilla and upload one of the files you are seeing this problem with? (If you are really seeing it with every file, then any file will do :)

Track affected by this bug

The bug applies to all tracks with more than one genre within an artist. This track is tagged Folk/Rock. I have other tracks by this artist tagged as Rock. If I browse by genre, select Rock, then select 'Badly Drawn Boy' I only see the tracks tagged as Rock, not those tagged Folk/Rock.
Comment 7 Neil Coburn 2007-09-19 11:58:54 UTC
PS I've just isolated the problem further. If I browse 'Genre > Rock > Badly Drawn Boy' it only shows the albums which have tracks tagged as Rock and not those tagged as 'Folk/Rock'. But if I select 'All songs' it shows all the tracks from all albums. So the latter is working correctly - the problem is displaying the albums not the tracks.

Should be fixed at change 13130 for trunk only, available for the SlimServer 7.0a1 nightly builds Sept 20.
Please reopen if there are any issues.

This bug is being closed since it was resolved for a version which is now released! Please download the new version of SqueezeCenter (formerly SlimServer) at http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html

If you are still seeing this bug, please re-open it and we will consider it for a future release.

Any chance that this fix could be merged into 6.5.5?
Comment 11 Chris Owens 2008-05-05 11:56:09 UTC
We don't have a branch for 6.5.x any more. You could look at KDF's change and see about applying it to your older build...

Hmm didn't 'change nnnn' used to automagically create links from bugzilla to svn?

I'll bring that issue up with Matt.
Comment 12 KDF 2008-05-05 11:59:02 UTC
The links were lost with the bugzilla/viewcvs updates. The fix is a small change to one line and should be possible for anyone wanting to make the change themselves.
