Bugzilla – Bug 5154
EEC on NAND flash
Last modified: 2011-11-06 23:24:35 UTC
On boot the kernel complains the EEC is not enabled on the NAND flash. The flash chip supports EEC, so why is this disabled in the kernel. This needs to be investigated.
So EEC does not work well with cramfs. The solution here is to use UBI to manage the flash, with maybe a squashfs or cramfs filesystem. This won't happen short term, and needs a kernel upgrade. I'm changing this to an enhancement.
Should we punt this post-7.0?
Richard: do we need this for 7.0?
This is not required for 7.0
