Bugzilla – Bug 511
shn's doen't work on mac osx
Last modified: 2011-03-16 04:18:48 UTC
I can't get shn to play with squeezebox, eventhought it is a klickable option in server settings
d_source log output would be helpful on this.

this same thing happens sometimes in Linux too. to get certain information about a shorten file (duration included) the server has to decompress to /dev/null and test the decompressed file. This has been the recommended method according to Hydrogen Audio forums, but it does tend to be unreliable for some shn files. Thus, the server comes up with zero duration, and refuses to play the file.
Shorten is unreliable and becoming obsolete. I don't think we'll be able to fix this. FLAC recommended.
Routine bug db maintenance; removing old versions which cause confusion. I apologize for the inconvenience.
