Description Ole Soellingvraa 2007-05-28 09:29:08 UTC
To "wake up" my Slimserver from my Transporter I have to (on the remote)

Press POWER button
Press LEFT arrow (Transporter Setup (1 of 8))
Press UP arrow (Transporter Setup (8 of 8))
Press RIGHT arrow - to Connect to Slimserver (first now the Slimserver is "waking up")

I had a SB3 before I bought a Transporter and on SB3 I just had to press the power button (on the remote) and SB3 "Was waking up Slimserver..."

Network wired (no firewall)

Player Firmware Version: 31

SlimServer Version: 6.5.3 - 12135 - Windows Server 2003 - EN - cp1252
Perl Version: 5.8.8 MSWin32-x86-multi-thread
MySQL Version: 5.0.22-community-nt

Ross, Sean is experimenting on my Transporter at the moment. Could you have a look at reproducing this? You may want to try it first on an SB3 connected to the same server.
Comment 2 Ross Levine 2007-05-31 15:14:03 UTC
Steven and I tested this with firmware 25, it didn't work. I tested with firmware 31, it still doesn't work. When the computer is off the Transporter doesn't even display "waking up SlimServer" like the Squeezebox does. Also, the Squeezebox with firmware 81 does successfully wake the computer.
Comment 3 Chris Owens 2007-05-31 15:19:50 UTC
Ross, if you still have the test set up, could you jump back to, say, FW18 and test to see if it worked in that version?
Comment 4 Spies Steven 2007-05-31 15:57:19 UTC
Working with Ross on this one, it seems that FW18 was the last firmware that this feature worked reliably with. Starting with FW19 and higher it no longer seems to work. Tested with a Intel Mac mini. The SB2/3 does not seem to have this issue up to and including the current firmware which is FW81.

Chris, you must be psychic :)

Thank you very much.
Comment 6 Richard Titmuss 2007-07-17 07:33:38 UTC
We should fix this for slimserver 7.
Comment 7 Nigel Coxon 2007-07-20 11:37:28 UTC
I have noticed the same behaviour. WOL works well with my SB3s but not the Transporter. To save power, my PC goes into standby after 20 mins, so it would be good to get this fixed

Problem solved. Thanks.
Comment 17 James Richardson 2008-05-05 14:23:19 UTC
Verified FW 37 functions. Had to do a Factory Reset on Transporter to get it to work properly. After that, it worked fine with MAC OSX 10.5.x / XP SP-2 / Vista
Comment 18 James Richardson 2008-05-15 12:26:13 UTC
This bug has recently been fixed in the latest release of SqueezeCenter 7.0.1

Please try that version, if you still see the error, then reopen this bug.
