Bugzilla – Bug 5087
Hebrew charecters not showing properly in SB
Last modified: 2008-12-15 12:16:29 UTC
When i use my SQueezebox with SLimServer version 6.5.2 set to hebrew some of the Hebrew Characters on the display of the squeezebox will not show properly. This is happen in the small and medium size text.
Are these song titles? Or navigation text? What's wrong with the text? Is it incorrect characters? Or non-hebrew characters? Or is the text reversed or scrambled in some way? Thanks for any additional info.
The text show the right characters but some of character line is missing, you can see the difference when you change the text size and then the characters become complete again. I will come and show you this on your Squeezebox Tomer
Tomer showed me this issue. It actually turns out to only occur on SqueezeNetwork on the medium text side, not on the small or large text size. Basically, it looks as though when SqueezeNetwork is making the display frame it is cropping the Hebrew characters too aggresively on the top and right side, causing bits of the characters to get cut off. The 6.5.2 Slimserver does not appear to have this problem, perhaps because it's using a different Hebrew font. It looks more modern and less ornate than the SqueezeNetwork font. Is there a plan to move SqueezeNetwork to the same font for Hebrew as the 6.5.2 Slimserver?
6.5.2 uses FreeSans font, added at change 11910. Looks like this change was missed in merging hebrew fixes to trunk. on a trunk repo: svn merge -r11909:11910 https://svn.slimdevices.com/repos/slim/branches/6.5/server/ -kdf
Good catch, I'm merging this font into trunk and SN now.
Fixed. Please test on SN beta, then I'll push it to production.
This bug has been fixed in the latest release of SqueezeNetwork! If you are still experiencing this problem, feel free to reopen the bug with your new comments and we'll have another look.
