Description Wallace Lai 2007-05-10 17:28:06 UTC
System Info: Gateway, P4, 2 GHz, 1.25 GB of RAM, XP SP2 ENU
SlimServer Version: 6.5.2 - 11950 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252
Server IP address: 10.0.3.69
Perl Version: 5.8.8 MSWin32-x86-multi-thread
MySQL Version: 5.0.22-community-nt

Steps to Reproduce:
1. On XP SP2 ENU, install SlimServer 6.5.2, build 2007-05-10.
2. After pressing the "Finish" button, "Getting Started" web page pops up.
3. After about a second or 2, this page is replaced with the SlimServer web page. It felt kind of abrupt and odd.
4. Users must go back one page to read the instruction fully.
5. It would be nice to have the SlimServer page pops up a little later.

workaround: should be possible to set IE to open a new window when launching new urls.
firefox and IE 7 should open a second tab instead of simply being replaced. If not the default, there is a setting.

Would it make sense to open the web UI and then the Getting Started? That way users can read the getting started, then close it to get to the web UI?

Can't reproduce any more. Even with IE6 as my default browser these pages open in separate windows.

Wallace - do you still see this with SC7?

Feel free to re-open if you can reproduce this issue.
