Description Wallace Lai 2007-05-08 14:57:00 UTC
System Info: Gateway, P4, 2 GHz, 1.25 GB of RAM, XP SP2 with Hebrew Support

Steps tp Reproduce:
1. On an XP SP2 system with Hebrew support, install SlimServer 6.5.2, build 2007-05-08.
2. All InstallShield pages are in Hebrew.
3. After installation, start SlimServer.
4. Notice the "http://127.0.0.1:9000/" page is not in Hebrew.
5. Go to "www.google.com". It is the Hebrew version that appears.
Comment 1 Michael Herger 2007-05-08 15:15:29 UTC
The language preference currently is only set during installation, if there was no preference file (clean install). Otherwise SlimServer will use on startup whatever setting was there.

What language did you choose in the server settings?
Comment 2 Michael Herger 2007-05-08 15:20:29 UTC
...and while google (and others) interpret a browser's headers to offer the correct language, SlimServer is relying on the language preference alone. No guessing of the language used.
Comment 3 Wallace Lai 2007-05-08 15:42:01 UTC
By picking "Hebrew" in the Server Settings" page, the whole thing turns into Hebrew. It works great.

In that case, this bug should be an enhancement request for future releases. Someone may not know English well enough to get to this page.

Verified the fix with SlimServer 6.5.2, build 2007-05-11, on XP SP2 with Hebrew support.
Bugs as written is no longer seen.
Regressed with all other supported languages. All their localhost:9000 page start in their own languages.
Marking this as "FIXED".
