Bugzilla – Bug 4937
Cannot log out of SqueezeNetwork
Last modified: 2007-07-10 12:31:59 UTC
(submitted by Support / DanE) This is an odd one but significant. Occasionally we get calls where people cannot connect to SqueezeNetwork. Often it's a DNS issue, in which case we can have them connect manually to SN with the IP address. We direct them to "Specify an IP address for your server" and enter 207.007.156.010. But, in this case you cannot log out of SqueezeNetwork. If you use the menu option to "Connect to Slimserver" it immediately reconnects to SN. This is likely normal behavior, as it is trying to connect to the only other server it knows which we gave it. It's a loop. We might want a safety net for that condition. Such that-- if you select "Connect to Slimserver" it cannot or will not try connecting to SqueezeNetwork again.
Press and hold left should be possible as a workaround. This should get the use into setup mode where they can manually enter their slimserver address, or find one.
True, while this is a workaround, I think it's a poor one from a User Experience standpoint. For the long-term we may want a better solution.
Adding Richard to the cc list in case he has any ideas
