Description Yann Oehl 2007-04-01 18:35:31 UTC
Since uprading to 6.5.2, I've noticed that my multiple GENRE and ARTIST tags are no longer being read during rescan. Character delimited multiple artists and genres listed in a single tag works okay.

Just to clarify: The first GENRE and ARTIST tag =is= being read.... but the subsequent ones are ignored.
E.g.
GENRE:Electronica (read and displayed in Db)
GENRE:IDM/Leftfield (Ignored)
etc.

Yann, what type of files are you seeing this behavior with? I was not able to reproduce with the files I have.

FLAC files.

Would you be willing to attach a small FLAC file to this bug that you see the behavior with? If you go back to SlimServer 6.5.1 does the problem go away? Do these FLACs only have Vorbis comments?

Hah! I found the culprit! Slimserver is fine... I have another app that is re-writing my tags (MusicIP Mixer) Sorry for the hassle.

I'm just curious, was MusicIP Mixer re-writing your tags without your knowledge?

Yes. During "Archive Analysis". My guess is it rewrites the all the vorbis tags (instead of appending) and collapses "repeated" tags in the process
