Bugzilla – Bug 4881
Can't add songs to a playlist using the Save link in the playlist window
Last modified: 2008-12-15 11:58:15 UTC
I am unable to use the "save" link that is in the playlist window to add new songs to a previously saved Playlist, nor to a new Playlist. The "Download" link works, and after a server rescan, the Playlist appears correctly in Slimserver. I was using version 6.5.2, and I've tried the 3/31/07 version also.
I'll take a look at this today.
I'm not able to reproduce this. Is it possible that you selected a playlist directory that SlimServer cannot write to?
Ross, my playlist directory is in my music directory. It appears to work the first time you add a song and save, but if you try to save an additional song (without clearing the playlist), then it won't save with the added song(s). I did not have this issue before 6.5.2
I'm confused. SlimServer is still allowing you to save playlists, as it should. Then later if you change the playlist you can save your new playlist, right? It won't update your old playlist, as far as I know SlimServer has never done that. Lets clarify, are you asking SlimServer to save a playlist, then make changes and have SlimServer save this as the old playlist (not a new playlist)?
Slimserver will let me save a playlist (let's call it 'playlist A') with songs 1, 2, and 3. 1) If I start playing 'playlist A', I can add songs 4 and 5, 2) then click the "Save" button located at the top of the right half of the browser. 3) On the left half of the browser it will show the new playlist, with 'playlist A' in the name field, and buttons that say "Save," "Edit", and "Delete." If I click "Save", Slimserver will ask if I want to overwrite 'playlist A' with my new playlist. 4) If I click the box next to "overwrite", 5) then click "Save", then 'playlist A' now has songs 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 saved to it. Now, if I immediately go add songs 6 and 7 to the playlist, repeating the same process above, then everything seems to work, except songs 6 and 7 don't get added to the saved 'playlist A.' I hope this makes sense, sorry for the confusion.
That makes perfect sense, I had no idea this feature existed! Very cool! I just tried this out and it seems to be working fine for me in 6.5.2 (3-31-07, 11700) which is the revision you're noticing the problem with. Rob would you mind either trying to reproduce this on another computer/image or maybe try one of the newer nightlies? If this is indeed a bug it shouldn't be difficult to reproduce.
Eureka! I just downloaded v2007-04-03 and all seems to be well! Thanks for your help!
Awesome! I'll leave this bug closed, if anyone sees anything like this in the future please feel free to re-open.
This bug has been fixed in the latest release of SqueezeCenter! Please download the new version from http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html if you haven't already. If you are still experiencing this problem, feel free to reopen the bug with your new comments and we'll have another look.
