Description tomer maoz 2007-03-29 15:12:52 UTC
I was talking to a customer that wanted to play Shorten files on is Squeezebox and he didn’t understand why there is an option under the server settings / File types for transcoding Shorten format if we do now support it.

We should remove this option from the interface in Slimserver if it's not supported format.

Dean your thoughts?

Adding Kevin to CC, KP your input?
Comment 3 Blackketter Dean 2007-04-10 16:49:33 UTC
I believe it does work, but you need to have shorten installed in a way that slimserver can access it. We can remove it from the configuration file or we can document this. How big of an issue is it?
Comment 4 Ross Levine 2007-04-17 13:05:29 UTC
Lowering the priority. This is not a big issue, but I see no reason for us to continue on the fence.

Kevin, are we currently supporting shorten or no?
Comment 5 Kevin Pearsall 2007-04-17 13:09:57 UTC
I didn't get the e-mail for some reason. Anyway, no, it's not supported, it's too broken on too many platforms.
Comment 6 Chris Owens 2007-04-18 13:54:18 UTC
Can we remove the 3 Shorten entries in the File Types screen and scour the docs, then?
Comment 7 Spies Steven 2007-04-18 13:58:28 UTC
How about just commenting out the Shorten lines in convert.conf that ships with SlimServer?
