Description Michael Haan 2004-08-07 08:35:20 UTC
In the fishbone skin, using FLAC, songs are appearing in an odd order (ie, not
their order on the CD).
Comment 1 Michael Haan 2004-08-08 10:11:53 UTC
I've also noticed that creating/playing playlists with FLACs is unpredictable.
Adding FLACs to a playlist inserts them randomly and playing a playlist with
FLACs in it plays them randomly. The same playlist will start with different
songs when played at different times. Maybe there's something about the way
I'm ripping them (I'm using dbPowerAMP), but I don't know.

what about other skins?
are your tags all correct, with album, genre AND track number?
the server, if it finds no tags that it can understand will try to guess based
on filename info.
Comment 3 Michael Haan 2004-08-11 13:16:25 UTC
Other skins appear to be broken as well. How would I know if my tags are
correct?
Comment 4 Blackketter Dean 2004-08-12 10:16:59 UTC
Browse into the song title itself from the web interface and look at the track
details. Is there a valid track number there? That's how the order is
determined. Reopen this bug if the track info appears correct but the sorting
is still wrong.
Comment 5 Michael Haan 2004-08-13 12:18:18 UTC
Yes, the track info is correct, the songs are just played in the wrong order.
Comment 6 Michael Haan 2004-08-13 15:23:57 UTC
Ok, I've just confirmed using Tag&Rename that the tags in my flacs are fine.
But when I browsed to an Album (The Darkness / Permission To Land) and told
squeeze to play the album, the order it has selected to play them in is:
5,3,1,4,6,9,8,2,10,7.
Comment 7 KDF 2004-08-16 11:58:18 UTC
silly queation, perhaps, but can you confirm that you have SHUFFLE set to OFF?

also, do your songs for the album all share the same genre tag? THere is
another bug that will sort by genre first if they differ.
Comment 8 Michael Haan 2004-08-16 12:00:32 UTC
I will confirm that shuffle is off but I'm sure that it is because albums
ripped to mp3 are fine. I'll look into the genre issue.

Dean, I don't know why but I downloaded and installed the latest nightly and
this problem has gone away.

There are 536 bugs in the database with targets of '---' that were fixed prior to new year 2006. I am setting them to targets of 6.2.1 to keep them from showing up in my queries.
