In order to establish the Transporter as a user-friendly digital pre-pro, the digital input labels should customizable.

For example, instead of "RCA Coax S/PDIF," I'd like this input to read "Cable box." And instead of "Optical S/PDIF," I'd like the input to read "DVD player." Input of the label text could be done through the Slimserver web interface, as either drop-down choices or text entry.

The lack of this feature is preventing me from removing my pre-amp -- I'm worried my family will have a tough time getting the hang of switching inputs (optical, rca?).

Also, I'd like to put the individual digital inputs on the root level of the menu, i.e., on the same level as albums, artists, etc.

Even better would be front panel and remote control buttons for switching inputs, but this would obviously require a hardware change.

All new Squeezebox products are likely to be based on the SqueezePlay platform.
We do not plan to implement any further enhancements to the ip3k firmware or
which are targeted specifically at ip3k-based products.
