Description Wallace Lai 2007-03-26 15:00:14 UTC
System Info:
Gateway, P4, 2.00 GHz, 256 MB of RAM, XP SP2 ENU

Steps to Reproduce:
1. On a clean ghost of XP SP2 ENU, install SlimSErver 7.0a1 of build 2007-03-22.
2. During the installation process, check the checkbox to create a QuickLaunch icon on desktop. (Checkbox of creating desktop icon is checked by default.)
3. After the installation, notice there is no QuickLaunch icon on desktop. It is not on the TaskBar either. Only the usual desktop icon and SlimTray icon are there.

Note: If the desktop icon is the meant to be the QuickLaunch icon also, then checkbox for QuickLaunch icon should be removed.

You're probably tired of me saying this Wallace but I'm also not able to reproduce this. With my fresh install of XP Quick Launch was *not* enabled by default, I had to enable it and then install SlimServer but it seems to work fine. I right clicked the task bar, properties, then checked "Show Quick Launch". Then installed SlimServer and checked the check box to add a quick launch icon, and it works.

Wallace did you have quick launch enabled? Perhaps it did add the icon and you just didn't notice because quick launch is disabled by default on XP (at least in the instances I'm working with)?

I see. That is the trick. Thanks Ross. No, I am not tired of it.
