Description Matthew Weiner 2004-08-06 12:46:46 UTC
Since upgrading to the graphic display module there has been a problem with any
plugin that uses custom characters including but not limited to the Snow.pm
screensaver. Instead of getting the character set up by the call, the name is
displayed instead. (A happy face symbol defined as 'happy' will instead display
.happy on the squeezebox). Problem has occured on all nightlies from 8/3 to
8/5... erased and reinstalled software, problem remains. Graphics for
integrated functions (volume, etc) work fine.

PIII 1.2g x2
1.5gb RAM
Windows XP SP1
Using Windows build but also have ActivePerl installed for troubleshooting
SqueezeboxG firmware v31

Tested further - duplicated problem with SoftSqueeze 1.0 on Windows (8/8
nightly) and with my Squeezebox with SlimServer 5.3b1 on SUSE Linux 9.1.

custom characters don't work on the graphics display. yet.
Comment 3 Blackketter Dean 2005-06-07 11:15:16 UTC
Moving bugs that won't be immediately fixed in 6.1 release. Please review and update if this is an error
or if this bug has already been fixed. Thanks.
Comment 4 KDF 2006-08-18 01:09:33 UTC
This is no longer relevant is it not?
Comment 5 Adrian Smith 2006-08-18 02:54:07 UTC
No longer relavent - custom characters are now supported on graphics displayed, but the plugin will need to explicitly define graphics custom character for graphics displays as per the 6.5 docs.
Comment 6 KDF 2006-09-27 00:01:43 UTC
as all cases of this problem are now long gone. marking as fixed.

Routine bug db maintenance; removing old versions which cause confusion. I apologize for the inconvenience.
