Bugzilla – Bug 4819
Mono Single Channel Ogg Vorbis Files Do Not Play Natively
Last modified: 2011-11-06 23:24:34 UTC
When attempting to play a mono Ogg Vorbis file on the Squeezebox2/V3 or Transporter natively will result in the player displaying "Problem: Can't open file for:" and no sound produced. The file will play if Ogg Vorbis Native is disabled. This seems to affect all mono Ogg Vorbis files I have tried. I tested against firmware 76/29.
Created attachment 1837 [details] Test suite of Ogg Vorbis files Mono and Stereo Ogg Vorbis files at various sample rates encoded with version 1.0 (20020717) reference encoder. All files are 440 sine wave at 10 seconds long. Encoded with quality setting 4.

"Problem: Can't open file for:" implies that this is a server bug. Can you attach a player.source debug log for this?
If an actual customer sees this, please post a comment or vote so we will know to pay more attention to it!
Created attachment 2648 [details] Log of Squeezebox failing to play mono ogg file. Just tested against SqueezeCenter 7 nightly and FW 34/84 and the issue remains. Attached log as requested.
