Description Matthias 2007-03-08 08:54:43 UTC
I have a number of mp3 files with a sampling frequenzy of 22.05 kHz. When I try to play them on my squeezebox, it says I started to play but it does not do so. The time remains at 0:00 and no sound comes out of the device. Afterwards the same happens when trying to play _any_ file. Unplugging the squeezebox is the only thing that helps.

Softqueeze plays the files without any problems.

I have seen here (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23223) that this problem has been know for quite some time. I am now opening a bug report, hoping that this will lead to a solution in the near future. If you really cannot get the squeezebox to play 22kHz files, automatic trancoding of those files would at enable me to listen to them on my squeezebox.

I have just tried it with different formats: 22.05 kHz WAV, FLAC, OGG play without problems.

Matthias, would you be so kind to attach one of your files that do not play to this bug?

This is a file that will not play. To be sure to remain legal I have chosen a piece of Creative Commons Music.

Matthias, I believe this was fixed in firmware 76. It is available in the nightly. You can get it here.
http://www.slimdevices.com/downloads/nightly/latest/6.5/
Let me know if it works for you.

I works indeed. I had not understood before that slimserver updates can also contain firmware updates so I had not tried a nightly because it obviously was not a slimserver problem. Thanks for your help and sorry for the trouble, Steven.
