Description Wallace Lai 2007-03-06 18:11:07 UTC
System Info:

Vista SP0 ENU

Steps to Reproduce:
1. On a clean ghost of Vista SP0 ENU, install SlimServer 6.5.2, build 2007-03-06.
2. Notice in the middle of the install process, an error message box pops up saying "Panic: Can't create C:\Users\ADMINI~1\AppData\Local\Temp\pdk-Administrator\6145f78a34d5ced8200800f1455d578a\perl58.dll"
3. The caption of the MsgBox is "C:\Program Files\SlimServer\SlimTray.exe".

Note:
Same bug was found for 6.5.2 on Vista.

doesn't this make it the same as bug 4808?
Comment 2 Wallace Lai 2007-03-07 14:48:33 UTC
Wallace, 20070307: Oops, wrong OS. This happened on XP. Yes, it is the same bug as 4808. However, 4808 is against Vista SP0 ENU. This is against XP SP2 ENU. Only one OS can be selected for each bug. Therefore, multipl bugs need to be entered if the issue happens on different OSes..

Verified! Further clarification this is not an issue with 7.0 on 3-6, it's an issue with 6.5.2

Wallace, 20070308: This is a duplicate of 4108. I am closing this one and add XP SP2 ENU onto 4108. I am glad Ross was able to reproduce this one and made sure it is not on 7.0.a1.

correct dupe number. not a big issue, just being anal. maybe for windows, there should be another option in the pulldown for "Windows" in general. Or, since this is an issue with the "windows installer", setting OS to "All" would also be acccurate in cases like this.

Have not seen this for a while. Verified again with today's SlimServer and SqueezeCenter on both XP and Vista.
Someone must have fixed this while improving these two apps.
Marking as "VERIFIED".

Regress tested other areas of the installer. No bug is found caused by this fix.
Closing.
