I've heard Dan mention he heard this from some Vista customers. I just tried this on the Vista 64 QA machine and I wasn't able to reproduce.

Wallace, 20070307: This is an intermittent bug. Retested 4 times with the same build from yesterday. Unable to reproduce. Used the same PC too.

Kevin, could you tell your guys to keep an eye out for more information on these cases? If a customer is particularly motivated, an msconfig dump might be useful.

Assuming Vista even still has msconfig. Ross, could you have a look?
Comment 4 Ross Levine 2007-03-08 17:43:17 UTC
Yes Vista still has msconfig. Support: Start -> Search: msconfig, then the Tools tab, click System Information from the left, then launch towards the bottom right, then file -> export.

Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help. I still haven't seen this error on Vista.

Could this have anything to do with bug 4685?

Re-opened, then mark it as WORKSFORME. The bug was valid. It is not reproducible any more.
