inverse IP blocking

To keep our server private we use the ability to block ip-numbers or even complete ip-ranges, or we do it the other way: only give a certain number or range access. In our case not everybody does have it's own ip-number, because some providers only work with dhcp. Do you have a solution for this? Is it possible to integrate authentication in the player itself?
