Description kaen 2007-02-22 05:56:57 UTC
request for an adjustable timer/timeout delay value for WOL/Server detection, i wish to be able to select the number of secs the player waits to find a server so it does not switch back off before my sleeping laptop is awoken, many people on the forums have compained about this and asked for a fix but i think im the first to post a proper request.

Once the WOL packet is sent, the SB/TR should be trying to reconnect periodically. You shouldn't have to hit the button again...

I believe this is fixed in SB2/3 fw 86, TR fw 36 and SBR fw 21, when I fixed the slim discovery issue (bug 6478).

This bug has recently been fixed in the latest release of SqueezeCenter 7.0.1

Please try that version, if you still see the error, then reopen this bug.

Honestly I still see this problem. If the server takes some time to wake up (mine has seven hard drives, they are bound to take some time...) the display goes back to black. For unexperienced users (ie. my wife) this is unintuitive. I suggest the "Waking Squeezecenter" stays there until Squeezecenter goes back online.

Any chance for what I mention to be fixed? Depending on number of hard disks in the server and other factors wake-up time can differ by a large factor.

Seeing an error message while the server is waking up is counterintuitive and, frankly, for non techie people, quite scaring (ie. my wife).
