Description tomer maoz 2007-02-21 15:39:22 UTC
I was helping a customer that was having an issue to start slimserver.
I try all the basic troubleshooting steps to solve his issue and nothing helps.
The solution for his issue was to start the server with the command:
slim.exe -d_server –noupnp
I did some search and found that he have a program that call MovieLink.
This program using upnp to stream movie from the internet to your computer and it look like it conflicting with slimserver and preventing it from starting correctly.

just clearing the target until it can be reviewed.

Tomer,

I just tried reproducing this but had no luck. I registered and installed movielink and got the software working after updating it. Then I downloaded and installed SlimServer 6.5.1 and it started without a problem. Is it possible that something else on the customers computer might have caused this? Or perhaps some other device on the network thats using UPnP?

I'm going to go ahead and mark this bug as works for me. Tomer if your customer contacts you again please comment to this bug and let us know what other UPnP services/products should be tested against SlimServer.
