Description Mike Walsh 2007-02-13 17:56:47 UTC
this is a weird one...

for some people it works apparently, but for me, everytime i shutdown SS from the slimtray icon, SS does shutdown, but the mysqld.exe process does not.

i thought this was by design, but others claim on their systems, it does shutdown.

i believe it should always shutdown with SS. it should at the very least be configurable to do so.

assuming u guys accept the fix in 4762:

https://bugs-archive.lyrion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4762

this one, 4763, should now also be fixed. -mdw

(at least in my situation, where i don't auto start any slim services)

I wasn't able to reproduce this, but it sounds like Mike was and now it's been repaired. I'm going to mark this bug as fixed, if anyone sees this again please feel free to re-open this bug.

Leaving open until official release, sorry.

This bug is the same as 4706 and as noted my patch for 4762 fixes.
I have added an explanation to 4706 how to reproduce.

I think it is the following.
1. Configure Slimserver to start automatic on system start.
2. Go into service control panel and change Slimserver service to manual start
or don't check the automatic start in the installation dialogue when installing.
3. Reboot systems
4. Start and then stop Slimserver from Slimtray.

is it possible that this bug is fixed with 4762?
Comment 6 Chris Owens 2007-05-15 13:56:53 UTC
Yes the fix for bug 4762 looks applicable. Mike are you still seeing this?
Comment 7 Chris Owens 2007-05-15 13:58:37 UTC
This looks like it can probably be closed. Waiting for further info.

Actually, Ross, could you take a minute and test this please?
Comment 8 Chris Owens 2007-05-15 19:37:26 UTC
Ross, did you say you looked at this?
Comment 9 Ross Levine 2007-05-16 11:18:10 UTC
I just tested and I'm not seeing this with 6.5.2 - 12003, cool to mark as works for me?

as far as i can tell or know, bpa fixed this quite some time back. he addressed both 4762 and 4763 in his reworking of slimtray, and it seems to be working fine for me. i am pretty sure that his contributions are not included in the install package you download from SD. at least i hope so.

so, my thx to bpa for fixing these annoying things.

i have not had time to play with my SB or SS lately, so i am kinda outta the loop and not sure that i recall all the issues however.
Comment 11 Mike Walsh 2007-05-17 07:52:02 UTC
ugh, i meant to say ARE included. sorry.
Comment 12 KDF 2007-05-17 08:27:39 UTC
looks like this is covered in change 11827 and change 11924 for the record. There were probably other changes involved, but that should cover the main stuff. Given the feedback, I'll mark as fixed. Please feel free to reopen if there are any issues.
