Description Wallace Lai 2007-02-08 17:21:21 UTC
System Info:
OS: XP SP2 ENU
Browser: IE7
HW: Dell Optiplex GX 620, Pentium D, 2.8 GHz, 1 GB in RAM

Steps to Reproduce:
1. On a clean ghost of XP SP2 ENU, install SlimServer_6.5_v2007-02-08.exe.
2. On a DOS promp, cd to the appdir and type "SlimTray.exe --start".
3. Notice an error message pops up saying "Windows cannot find 'SlimServer Web Interface.url'.". The SlimServer web page does not pop up.
4. Double clicking the SlimTray icon produces the same problem.
5. However, SlimServer has been started. Squeeze Box does connect to it, and music can be played.

Work Around:
Start IE. On the address bar, type http://localhost:9000. SlimServer Web page pops up just fine.

Note: Found by SlimServerPlayMusic.pl.

Wallace, 20070305: This bug is still seen intermittently. Sometimes, this bug can be reproduced by ghosting a system clean and installing the same build several times.

wallace, 20070320: Reproduced it with today's 6.5.2 build. It is on XP again.
Comment 3 Chris Owens 2007-05-15 13:54:22 UTC
We'll keep it open for users to add information about how to repro, or for wallace, but we're not going to fix for 6.5.2.

Wallace, Slimtray has its own item on the 'component' list, please make sure to select it for slimtray bugs. Thanks!

Can we close this bug?
Comment 5 Michael Herger 2007-11-15 22:57:47 UTC
Feel free to re-open. "wontfix" as we're not going to work on the 6.x installer any more.
Comment 6 Wallace Lai 2008-01-10 16:09:10 UTC
Not too many people users will use "SlimTray.exe --start" command on a DOS. "WONTFIX" is OK until 90% of Windows users fall in love with DOS prompt again.
Marking this as "VERIFIED".
Comment 7 Wallace Lai 2008-01-10 16:09:31 UTC
Closing.
