Bugzilla – Bug 4746
End of Song is Clipped Off when playing an AAC file
Last modified: 2012-02-27 17:33:21 UTC
(reference support incident 070129-004391) Customer said he was hearing the ending getting clipped off when listening to his music collection. His files are in AAC format in M4A. Test done in Support: (by devans) I listened to one file he sent in and it did sound a little clipped. So I converted that file to MP3 in iTunes and played it back to back with the M4A he sent in. What I heard was there was about a 3 second tail of silence at the end of the MP3. But I only heard about a 1 second tail of silence after the M4A. (I was not using a stop-watch.) Kevin suggests this could be the difference between the space between songs and the space between the end of a playlist and the beginning, so I'm not sure. Needs further testing I think. Files are attached.

Daniel, did the customer mention what version of Slimserver he was using? Also what hardware did he notice the song being clipped on? Thanks.
