Description Dan Evans 2007-02-07 14:17:20 UTC
(reference support incident 070129-004391)

Customer said he was hearing the ending getting clipped off when listening to his music collection. His files are in AAC format in M4A.

Test done in Support: (by devans)
I listened to one file he sent in and it did sound a little clipped. So I converted that file to MP3 in iTunes and played it back to back with the M4A he sent in. What I heard was there was about a 3 second tail of silence at the end of the MP3. But I only heard about a 1 second tail of silence after the M4A. (I was not using a stop-watch.)

Kevin suggests this could be the difference between the space between songs and the space between the end of a playlist and the beginning, so I'm not sure. Needs further testing I think.

Files are attached.

Daniel, did the customer mention what version of Slimserver he was using? Also what hardware did he notice the song being clipped on? Thanks.

He is playing on a Squeezebox 3, I'm pretty sure, and he's using:

SlimServer Version: 6.5.1 - 11112 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252
