Description George Mills 2007-01-18 15:14:41 UTC
I have a Harmony 880 and set it up such that it has Descrete PowerOn and PowerOff IR codes and works all fine and dandy for PowerOn from "normal" Standby and PowerOff to "normal" Standby.

However, if my SlimServer goes to "hyper sleep" (i.e. the display on the SqueezeBox goes black because the SlimServer went into Sleep as well) the Harmony PowerOn code will not wake it up. But the Toggle_Power IR code will on the orginal remote.

I think this a bug, Wake-On-Lan-Standby (i.e. I call it "hyper sleep") should respond to either toggle_power or power_on IR codes. Otherwise any remote that is aware of Descrete Power IR codes needs to know if the SqueezeBox is in Standby or HyperSleep in order to turn it on.

I'm running 6.5.1 (Build from around Jan 16 2007) on XP SlimServer (both on Wired Network and fixed IPs) using a SqueezeBox 3.

Richard, does the SB2/3 or Transporter hardware support discreet on/off IR codes?
Comment 2 Richard Titmuss 2007-01-19 01:43:55 UTC
This could be implemented as a future enhancement to the firmware.

Hi second this request. Please implement that enhancement.
With energy costs rising more and more people will have servers that go to sleep on idle.

With such server the supplied discreet power codes are mostly useless.
