Steps to reproduce:

While doing anything, set brightness to something other than 4.  Easiest to see if set to 0 or 1.
Kill SlimServer or otherwise close the slimproto connection.
Display flashes the previous text at brightness 4 before going blank.

This bug is fixed in firmware 75. It is currently undergoing internal testing. You will be notified again when it is made part of a nightly release.

This bug should now be marked as fixed. It is in the latest firmware released in 6.5.2.
