Description Dan Evans 2007-01-11 10:27:21 UTC
(reference tmid 19542)

I did confirm this by ripping a CD using Max 0.7 in Apple Lossless. The files would play in iTunes, but would NOT play in Slimserver. I tested on:

 * SlimServer Version: 6.5.0 - 9916 - Mac OS X 10.4.8
 * SlimServer Version: 6.5.1 - 11024 - Windows XP

While this doesn't appear to be something we'd worry about on face value, I did some initial searching and the cause may be a bug in ALAC to which there is a new version available that fixes it. At least according to the programmer of Max... Here is the discussion I found on the Max forums: http://sbooth.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=391

If there is indeed a newer version of ALAC then this might be an easy fix. If not, then it's not really our problem I guess.

I was able to reproduce the problem on both Mac OS X 10.4.8 and Windows XP.

Updating ALAC to version 0.1.3 solved the problem in both cases available at http://craz.net/programs/itunes/alac.html

Chris, can this fix make it into the nightly?
