Description Wallace Lai 2007-01-09 11:19:54 UTC
Isolated Steps to Reproduce:
1. On a clean XP SP2 ENU system, install SlimServer_6.5_v2007-01-05.exe.
2. Make sure the SlimServer icon is on the systray.
3. Go to appdir and double click unins000.exe to uninstall.
4. Notice after the uninstallation process, SlimServer icon is still on the systray. SlimTray.exe is still in the appdir. PC is not as clean as it should be after uninstall.

Enhancement Request:
The uninstall process should shutdown the SlimTray process and remove both the icon and SlimTray.exe.

Work Around:
Stop SlimServer and exit the SlimTray before uninstall.

Wallace, when I get in on Monday, remind me to point out to you where the version information is located in Slimserver. :)

Just for an internal note: I notice that slimtray doesn't show up after a reboot.

I've noticed that some tray icons stick around even thought the process behind them is gone. If it is gone after reboot, might it also disappear if you move the mouse over the tray icon before rebooting?

Wallace, 20070115: Hi, Chris, I noticed SlimTray not showing up after reboot also. Double clicking the SlimServer desktop icon brings up the SlimTray icon. Let me search to see if someone had logged a bug already. If not, I will log it.
Hi, KDF, I tried mousing over SlimTray. So far, it has not disappeared yet. If it does, I will open up another bug for it. Thanks.

To clarify, I meant in the case of uninstalling. The uninstall should kill SlimTray.exe, which would then remove the icon. However, I've noticed that some icons don't always go away right away when an app is killed. If you uninstall, and the icon stays, try running the mouse over then.

It should never disappear on mouse over if you have an installed and running system.

Verified and fix on SqueezeCenter 7.0a1 with version 2007-12-19. This bug has been fixed. So the future(Target) is now.
Regressed around and saw nothing broken because of this fix.
Marking as "VERIFIED".
