Description Ben Shapiro 2007-01-07 14:25:57 UTC
I've tried using the last few nightly builds and it hasn't fixed my problem, which is that if I try to pull up the slim picks or the Shoutcast Top 500 or Genre menus, I get errors like the following:

There was an error loading the remote feed for : ( unclosed token at line 37, column 0, byte 2577 at /disks/shared/bigmotherfucker/slimservers/SlimServer_6.5_v2007-01-06/CPAN/XML/Parser.pm line 187 )

Hi Ben,

Do you get this message just going to Internet Radio -> Slim Devices Picks? Or do you have to actually play one of the picks?
Comment 2 Ben Shapiro 2007-01-10 17:08:33 UTC
I get it from just going to Slim Picks.

I get it from just going to Slim Picks.

Actually, it's working now. Nothing has changed on the server. Did something change in the XML feed?

I don't think so, but I'm not able to reproduce it.

Looking at the message you describe, I have a feeling that it may be a bug that only happens when there is also a network connectivity issue, so it might be difficult to reproduce. You could try disconnecting your local network from the larger Internet to see if that makes the problem happen again.

What platform are you running on Ben? Are you running the tarball distro or one of the others?

The SlimServer is running on a major university's network. No other functionality was broken, which is what makes it weird.

I'm using the tarball nightlies.

I'm pretty sure this is an issue with a port being blocked or some kind of net issue that's not affecting many users.
