Bugzilla – Bug 4630
Wide character crash when streaming a file with Unicode tags
Last modified: 2012-02-27 17:33:22 UTC
The crash occurs toward the end of the current file being streamed, and it occurs every time. The SB3 buffers the file and plays it till the very end; the display dissapears before the track ends. The file has to have Unicode (cyrillic in my case) tags; the name of the file does not matter; nor does the format: it happens with FLAC and MP3. The bug started to appear sometime between 30/11/2006 and 27/12/2006; it also is present in the last nightly build. Here is the message: 2007-01-02 18:02:22.8423 Wide character in syswrite at /PerlApp/Slim/Networking/ Select.pm line 293. VERSION INFO SlimServer Version: 6.5.1 - 11077 - Windows Server 2003 - EN - cp1251 Server IP address: 192.168.11.6 Perl Version: 5.8.8 MSWin32-x86-multi-thread MySQL Version: 5.0.22-community-nt
Is it possible you could attach a file that displays the problem?
Created attachment 1758 [details] An MP3 audio track with cyrillic tags This is one of the files that crashes Slimserver. Please note that the problem seems to be less consistent then I thought. Yesterday I couldn't crash it, no matter what I played through it. Then I remembered that I enabled some new (for me) plugins: MusicInfoSCR and SlimServer String Editor. I disabled them, restarted the server and here it crashes again. So the problem seems to be configuration-dependand too. Here is the list of plugins I have right now: Album Review Audioscrobbler Submitter Biography Command Line Interface (CLI) Date and Time Screensaver Network Test NoSetup - enable/disable access to server settings Random Mix Rescan Music Library Save Playlist Visualizer Screensaver Windows: Prevent System Standby While Playing
Can I assist in further debugging of this one? Some other debugs, maybe....?
I have uploaded a sample directory structure with 3 albums and 3 tracks in bug 4485, which does illustrate this bug too. Here us the link: https://bugs-archive.lyrion.org/attachment.cgi?id=1773&action=view
Steven, have you had a chance to look at this one?
The problem seems to have gone away, starting from some nightly build some time ago; so I suggest it must be closed now.
Closing resolved bugs - if you feel this bug still exists please first re-test with the latest SW/FW version. If you are able to reproduce then feel free to reopen and attach new logs / steps to reproduce.
