Bugzilla – Bug 4621
Downloaded Rhapsody tracks not showing in SlimServer web menu
Last modified: 2007-08-06 18:07:37 UTC
Intermittently (unfortunately) downloaded Rhapsody tracks simply do not show up in the SlimServer interface. I have just downloaded a single track into Rhapsody. The artist is listed in the Rhapsody library as "Claudio Monteverdi". No entry for "Claudio Monteverdi" comes up in the SlimServer web interface under Rhapsody/Artists. This has happened to me before . . . sometimes they just suddenly pop in after a period of absence. I tried restarting both Rhapsody and SlimServer to no effect. I have marked this bug as critical since it prevents the music fromp laying. In case this is somehow track-specific, search Rhapsody for Lamento d'Arianna and download the version on the album "Lamenti Barocchi".
Further info -- I finally found this track filed by the web interface under <Various Artists>, despite the fact that the track info clearly states Title: Lamento d'Arianna Artist: Claudio Monterverdi So I'd still say something is not right.
This is not to downplay how much it means to you. That importance is recognised, but as there is no crash or memory leak involved, it is an improper use of 'critical' severity.
The structure of the Rhapsody UPnP menu is dictated by the Rhapsody app on your PC. Maybe you can do something within the Rhapsody PC app to reorganize it in your Rhapsody library? Does the track play OK at least?
I see I never answered this. Yes, the track plays fine.
Ross, could you have a look at reproducing this, please?
Matt this is actually normal behavior. I had to dig up the track you mentioned on Rhapsody, and sure enough it's tagged as the album being: Lamenti Barocchi (Baroque Laments) Vol. 3. Which SlimServer is correctly indexing as Various Artists. Try searching for the album "(Baroque Laments) Vol. 3" within the Rhapsody jukebox software, you'll see the artist is "Various Artists".
Note that SlimServer does not index Rhapsody tracks. The menu structure for any UPnP server is dictated by the server itself.
I'm going to mark this bug as invalid since that seems to be the case. If I'm wrong please correct me.
