Bugzilla – Bug 4608
some ogg streams don't open in SS or SN
Last modified: 2009-11-16 08:28:23 UTC
Several ogg streams that open fine in Winamp but not in SlimServer or Squeeze Network. http://213.161.22.14:9000/radionet.ogg http://213.161.22.13:9000/racity.ogg http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=30713
Steven could you have a look at this?
I get the same behavior for both links. After entering the link in "Tune In URL" and clicking the "Tune In" button the Squeezebox displays: "Now Playing (Checking Stream)" briefly then: "Now Playing (Connecting)" briefly then: "Problem: Can't connect to server for: Radio Net Live" Disabling native OGG did not change the problem. Both links open and play fine in VLC.
Andy, is this something in the server or something to do with the firmware somehow?
Created attachment 1789 [details] Log showing steaming error.
First problem with both these streams is that the content-type used is application/x-ogg which we didn't have listed in types.conf. Second problem is our decoder doesn't support them. :(
Chris, who should this one be assigned to?
Andy you say we "didn't" have the type in our types.conf. Does that mean you fixed that problem? :)
I fixed one problem yes, the other is a question for Richard.
Im wondring if there is any update on this bug?
Richard, have you had a chance to look at this one yet? Please let me know if QA can help in any additional way.
Any new news on the bug?
Additionally, I can't get: http://vorbis.nm.cbc.ca/cbcr2-toronto.ogg to play natively with firmware 81. It will buffer, then do nothing. If I disable native vorbis decoding, and transcode to AIFF, then reboot my Squeezebox 3, the stream plays perfectly. No problem playing the stream with Amarok either.
Any news on this?????
Felix: Can you take a look at this and see how the Ogg streams are failing?
Richard, was this the bug you mentioned would be so difficult to fix?
Any news to this bug? The two by the bug opener posted stream url may changed their parameters and do work now. But http://vorbis.nm.cbc.ca/cbcr2-toronto.ogg I still can't play with SC 7.3.3 (squeezer 125) So I think, it's because of the low band witdth stream 32 kbps I found some other Ogg/Vorbis streams with 32 kbps that don't work: http://193.42.152.203:8040/wrndeueu.ogg.m3u http://www.freirad.at/live.m3u
Sorry, low-bitrate (< 64k) Vorbis streams cannot be supported due to double the usual Vorbis memory requirements.
