Bugzilla – Bug 4527
Search never picks up all tracks
Last modified: 2012-02-27 17:33:26 UTC
Searching for new music, or recreating my library never seems to include all my tracks. When upgrading to 6.5 from 6.2.x my music library has decreased in size (when the opposite should be true) which suggests that it's slimserver at fault rather than my music files as they were picked up in previous versions. I've just added two new albums (ripped myself and encoded identically) and after the search has completed each one has a few tracks missing, in fact a lot of my albums now seem to be incomplete when they were once complete under previous versions????
from bugzilla main page: "Before You Begin Before you file a new bug, please do the following: 1. Try the latest stable nightly build of SlimServer and see if the bug is still there." Have you tried item 1? If that fails, probably worth contacting support@slimdevices.com to at least cover the basic questions in order to determine the nature of the 'bug' or if it is a possible setup problem. The bug tracker isn't really the best place for diagnosis. Also, while it is clear that this is an important issue for you, the nature of the severity definitions (https://bugs-archive.lyrion.org/page.cgi?id=fields.html#bug_severity) this doesn't really meet the points for critical overall.
Yes I experienced the same with the latest 6.5 branch release I could find. with regards the remainder of your comment.. I went to post on the forums for advice but the sticky topic at the top stated.. "Please remember - if you have an issue with SlimServer, Squeezebox or SqueezeNetwork, post a bug report!", so I simply followed that advice. If I mis-interpeted it, i am sorry. (I thought I had submitted it as major anyway, but nevermind, i'm only human...) apologies not required. notes were left to explain the changes, and point out next steps to help narrow down the problem.
Edward, do the same tracks always get missed? If so, could you upload one for us to have a look? Or is it different tracks each time? Steven, could you follow up with this?

Hi, in the end I had a peek in the database and saw that all the tracks *were* in the mysql database OK but the problem seemed to be that they didn't get listed or added to the playlist through slimserver. I had a play about with mysql (this was a while ago now) and over time forgot all about it - i haven't noticed the problem in a while. I'll resolve this as invalid unless it happens again.
Closing resolved bugs - if you feel this bug still exists please first re-test with the latest SW/FW version. If you are able to reproduce then feel free to reopen and attach new logs / steps to reproduce.
