Description Jim McAtee 2006-11-19 22:19:07 UTC
I have albums in my library going back to the 1930s. In Browse Years, the most recent years end up being paged to a second page. It would be much more useful to have the most recent years, where there are likely to be many more albums, displayed first. I suspect that's true even for someone with relatively few years in their library.

A good point. I know Dan hates options, but this seems like an option that might not be too confusing for an average end-user.

If it's made an option, it would have to be decided if that option affects any other year sorts. I recall seeing another enhancement request (or perhaps in the forums) where someone wanted albums sorted by year (say, when browsing artists) in descending order. I wouldn't particularly care for that myself.

Perhaps we need ALBUMYEARSORT

Okay I am totally joking please nobody implement that.

Does this really need to be an extra option ?

Wouldn't it be better to just change the current year sorting to descending order, I'm pretty sure this is what most people expect when sorting by year.

I don't think it needs to be an option if only done in the web and remote ui when browsing by Year. Why not implement it while 7.0 is being heavily beta tested and see whether anyone complains?

Unassigned bugs cannot have a priority.
