Description Ben Hockenhull 2006-11-15 07:23:38 UTC
My home wireless network is secured using 802.1x. My SB3 in the bedroom is connected wirelessly. The SB3 doesn't support 802.1x or WPA Enterprise for wireless authentication.

I ended up creating a new wireless SSID and associated vlan that supports WPA2 to authenticate the SB3. It would be nice to have support for 802.1x (or WPA enterprise, basically any decent auth scheme that has a concept of individual users and passwords) in the Squeezebox/Transporter.

And as long as I'm at it, it would be nice to support 802.1x on the wired side for network authentication as well.

I'm sure I'm the fringe case here, but thought I'd log the request in case this is actually a popular desire.

In closing, I would also like a pony.

Thanks.

Sorry this won't be possible. We don't have the resources (cpu/memory) available in the firmware to provide this feature.
