Description Paul Calman 2006-11-11 07:19:16 UTC
Hi, I have 3 x Slim'3 and a Transporter. The TP is syncronised to one of the Slim'3. If I listen to music on the TP via the TOSLink and on the Slim3 press and hold button 3 (which is setup to access an Internet radio site the Slim Server crashes and all Slim devices go blank.

If you require more info please let me know.

Regards

Paul Calman

Subject: RE: Slim3 and Transporter

Hi,

When I get time I will sort out the event log and send it to you.

I am running SlimServer Version: 6.5.1 - 10662 - Windows XP - EN -
cp1252(the latest nightly download)

Basically if a Slim3 is synchronized with a Transporter and you select the
TOSlink connection on the Transporter nothing happens. I have to "switch"
off the Slim3 and then the TOSlink will work on the Transporter. Thought you
would like to know about this.

Steven, this sounds like it might be reproducible with just 1 SB and 1 Transporter. Give it a try, would you? If you turn out to need more squeezeboxen, just take a couple from my cubicle.

actually, the op mentions a slimp3. this would result in mp3 formatted output for the synced playback, as opposed to possibly WAV or FLAC if you used SB/2/3. Bitrate limiting might be duplicate the problem, but it would really be nice to have the actual info from the log in order to be SURE it's the same problem.

also need the url for the internet radio used at the time

I tried several different synced combinations of a Transporter, SB3 and a SliMP3 and was not able to reproduce the behavior described. Hopefully Paul will provide more information.

Paul, any event viewer info or logs? Has this stopped happening?
