Bugzilla – Bug 4495
Problem on Slimserver's Music Player Display
Last modified: 2008-12-15 13:07:43 UTC
If the "Now Playing "song extends to more than one line, it is partially covered by the first item on the "Current Playlist". It looks as if there should be more space between the two.
Created attachment 1703 [details] truncate to fit. not much can be done here, as css does not allow for magic reziing to fit when frames and multiple browsers still have to be supported. Best solution here is to cut the extraordinary long tracklines to something that will fit. as no screenshot or skin details were provided, I've assumed Default skin.
It looks to me like you have to have a really ridiculously long song name to achieve this problem. It is a bug, but we have bigger fish to fry at the moment. Perhaps at GUI rework time we can see if there is a good way to fix this issue.
Subject: Re: Problem on Slimserver's Music Player Display Thanks for your reply, but I strongly disagree with your "really ridiculously long song name " judgment. That a display window can't even show *two* lines of text by itself is really bad, and not only regarding classical music. There are many pop songs that easily fill one entire line, and when you add Slimserver's extra "from xxx album" information, there you have two full lines. I also disagree with your suggestion that it isn't an urgent matter, because the display is the first impression about Slimserver that most users will have, not the other "below the radar" bugs that are solved. By the way, I have never had any major problem with either Slimserver or SB and I like both very much. two lines? I had to manufacture one to be three lines long in order to see anything clipping. What is the window size of the browser that you are using??
Subject: Re: Problem on Slimserver's Music Player Display I tried to answer in the Comment box of Bugzilla but it didn't accept either my ID or my password; I may have forgotten one of them. I am using Slimserver 6.5.1 - 10498 - cp1252 on the new Internet Explorer 7 in two different hard drives, one with Windows XP SP2 and another with the latest Windows Vista RC1 upgraded to Vista final. On both, more than one line of text is partially covered by the second song on the playlist. It could be a problem of my systems and I will check again, but I don't think so. Could it be an incompatibility with Explorer 7? I haven't used Slimserver with previos Internet Explorer versions. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Slim Devices Bugzilla" <bugs@bugs.slimdevices.com> To: <val@dorta.com> Sent: Thursday, November 23, 2006 9:34 AM Subject: [Bug 4495] Problem on Slimserver's Music Player Display > https://bugs-archive.lyrion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4495 > > > slim-mail@deane-freeman.com changed: > > What |Removed |Added > ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- > CC| > |slim-mail@deane-freeman.com > > > > > ------- Comment #3 from val@dorta.com 2006-11-23 07:25 ------- > Subject: Re: Problem on Slimserver's Music Player Display > > Thanks for your reply, but I strongly disagree with your "really > ridiculously long song name " judgment. fixed in change 14053. please reopen if there are any issues. note that this only affects SC7.0 and the now "Classic" new. The Default skin is entirely new.
This bug appears to have been fixed in the latest release! If you are still experiencing this problem, feel free to reopen the bug with your new comments and we'll have another look. Make sure to include the version number of the software you are seeing the error with.
