Bugzilla – Bug 4492
updated information in gui of webserver?
Last modified: 2008-12-18 11:12:53 UTC
Hi, I am wondering with all the new features if it is in planning to revamp and update the online help in the webinterface? Just one example: regarding the 'path to mp3 directory' in the server setup there is mention that it does not have to be filled in for itunes and moodlogic. But what about musicip? I read through forums that for musicip it could also be left blank? What is the real deal here now?
please ask such questions in the forum. some of this information is already in the wiki (wiki.slimdevices.com) Is there an actual specific enhancement request here?
Sorry, I'll try to be more specific: There are three main sources of information which sometimes 'contradict' each other, for example this musicmagic setting option leaving the field to mp3 path blank or not. For me personally I do not have the time to test this: I would like to have a working solution. Especially specifics on the behaviour like various artists settings and treat multidiscs as one.. the web UI already gives some info, could this not elaborate further by pointing to specifics in the wiki or other options on how to handle tagging? Just one example in my experience here I have recently removed all APE tags (which isn't easy as most taggers default to id3 tagging just to get rid of certain issues with double album entries) Basically this request is for up-to-date info of which the source is Slimdevices development itself, not the user community trail and error methodology.
Yes we do plan to improve the help system.
Boy, I sure hear you regarding user community speculation of how things should work. Duplicate of bug 2487?
I'll just put a link in that bug referring to this one so both will be reviewed.
