Bugzilla – Bug 4471
When I try to play a track from the Live Music Archive, it crashes SlimServer.
Last modified: 2006-11-05 22:50:12 UTC
Running SlimServer 6.5.0 on Windows XP. I am able to browse through the Live Music archive directories. When I play a track, here's what happens: 1) The track starts playing 2) SlimServer immediately crashes 3) The track keeps playing, possibly until the buffer runs out (?)
Please do not preset targets. Please DO try the latest nightly build (as one should do beffore filing a bug) as this should be fixed. However, if you are able to reproduce with the nightly, please check the event viewer for any information related to the crash of slimserver (slim.exe). there should be at least one message in there that will help dirct us to the nature of the problem. thanks.
I'm sorry, I'm not able to try the nightly build right now. But if it is helpful, the error message that seems to be associated with the crashes is: "The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( Application ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Can't call method "id" on an undefined value at /PerlApp/Slim/Player/ReplayGain.pm line 128." (My apologies on setting the target.)
Thanks for that info. This has come up before, and should definately be fixed in the nightly builds and in the soon to be released 6.5.1. Please refer to bug 4365. I'll record this as a dupe of that bug. Please feel free to add any comments here if you feel this should be reopened after you are able to update. np about the target, just a note for future since we use that internally. new reports, being undefined, are a flag for bugs that need to be reviewd. thanks *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 4365 ***
