I'm not sure how long it's been doing this - I don't recall noticing it when I first installed 6.5.0 a few weeks ago. But here's the behavior:

I'm playing a large playlist shuffled by song. The display on the players is fine. In the Web interface, for both the Default and Fishbone skins, using both FireFox 2.0 and the earlier version, and for both the browser on the local machine where SlimServer is running and for one on another machine on the network, the display of each song is correct for the songs that have not yet played. They show the song name, album name, and artist name, in a format like "Fly Like An Eagle from Complete Greatest Hits by Steve Miller Band".

As soon as the song is playing, the artist name is removed from the display of that line in the right pane. So it says "<songname> from <albumname>" with no trailing info for the artist.

Once that has happened to that song, it stays messed up as the display continues to update its way down the list.

The information displayed at the top is also wrong - it says "NOW PLAYING" then on the line below that "from <albumname>". The song name and artist name do not appear in the upper part of the pane display.

Note how the song being played, and all the ones above it on the list, are missing the artist. The ones below are still showing it - but it will be removed after they get played.

I can't reproduce this with the 6.5.1 nightly builds. There are some known issues with artist tagging in 6.5.0 so it would be worth downloading the latest nightly to see if the issue still exists for you.

I can't reproduce this either. Mike have you had a chance to try the 6.5.1 nightly? It's quite stable; we're just in a holding pattern on the release for one new firmware feature.

Just got back, will try it this weekend. I wasn't sure how stable it was, so thanks for the info.

I believe this problem is resolved in build 10652. I installed it yesterday, rescanned, and have been playing since then with no recurrence of the problem. However, I'll keep an eye on it - the last time I think some time went by before the problem appeared. You can mark it resolved in the meantime, but can reopen if it comes back.
