Bugzilla – Bug 4453
Display text does not match song listening to Live365
Last modified: 2008-12-15 12:16:17 UTC
(support tmid 12767) Another issue with using a preferred account on Live365 He's logged into a preferred account and listening to Radio1 via his favorites. The text displayed on the display does not match what is playing on the station. The text matches what Live365 *says* is playing, but the audio does not.
So the data is also wrong when listening on Live365's website?
Subject: Re: Display text does not match song listening to Live365 No, the impression I got was he's using the Live365 site as the reference source and finds: * Their site data matches their audio stream * Our audio stream matches their audio stream * Our displayed text does not match their site's data or the audio playing
I'm Craig Courtney, the guy who called in with this bug - I wanted to correct one thing I read in Daniel's reply (Comment #2): > * Our audio stream matches their audio stream > * Our displayed text does not match their site's data or the audio playing Actually, it's this: * Our audio stream *does not match* their audio stream * Our displayed text *does* match their site's data Here's an example of what happens. I have a VIP (paid) account with Live365. I'm logged into a Live365 station (Radio One, for example) on my Squeezebox using my VIP account (entered my ID and pword in the Live365 tab in the SqueezeNetwork website for my system). Here's an example of what I see and hear on my Squeezebox: - Displayed text: Pilgrimage - R.E.M. - Song playing through Squeezebox: Bury Me With It - Modest Mouse On my computer, I pull up the Live365 site, and I first listen to the Radio One station *without signing in* (non-VIP, free station). I see this on the Live365 page on my computer: - Displayed text: Bury Me With It - Modest Mouse - Song playing through computer: Bury Me With It - Modest Mouse Then I log into my VIP account on Live365, and the web page station changes to this: - Displayed text: Pilgrimage - R.E.M. - Song playing through computer: Pilgrimage - R.E.M. I hope that makes sense. Please don't hesitate to write to me if you need any additional information: charlie_the_cat@yahoo.com. - Craig P.S. Other than this bug, I love the Squeezebox!
This is what I got shortly from the Live365 Customer Support Team: "...Well, I would try to see if the other stations are having the same issue. If the trouble is from the Squeezebox, then you will need to contact their tech support in order to correct the issue. There are possible delays between the tracks and the track description, but if this is consistent, then trying other stations to see if the problem is on squeezebox or the station itself..."
My father reported this fault back in May, and it still hasn't been fixed. When are bugs fixed, do we get an ETA on the fix date? Please advise.
My additional investigation gave the following mini-result: The fault is not evident in all stations. Some stations show no titles at all, probably due to principal features of the individual transmission. Most of my selected stations show the described fault. Only one shows the titels in a correct manner: Highlander Radio: LIVE!
I was contacted by someone who wanted to know the status of this bug. I pointed them to the nightly build explaining it was fixed and they could try for themselves if they liked. I heard back: "That worked - thanks!" So it appears to have fixed it for one customer. If anyone else would like to try our nightly build of SlimServer, now called SqueezeCenter, please do. Bear in mind, it's still Beta but the fix is in. Feel free to try for yourself, or you can wait for the official release. You can download it here: http://www.slimdevices.com/downloads/nightly/latest/7.0/ Get the "Windows Executable" for Windows, or the Mac OS disk image for Mac. The fix will be implemented on SqueezeNetwork with our next major SqueezeNetwork update.
Old bug, most likely fixed by new Live365 plugin.
I have a customer who is seeing this behavior with the Squeezebox Duet and his VIP account. He states that the display information is not displaying correctly on his Controller for his Live365 VIP account.
Hi...Anoop asked me to add comments to this bug report. What I am seeing is that when I was listening to live365 in free mode I was getting song title matching what was playing. Once I signed up as a VIP listener on live365 I am still seeing the "free" song titles on most live365 channels. I just read the comments below... I will search for the latest live365 plug-in and will see if that fixes it. I will append here if it works. Thanks.
I just upgraded to the latest squeezebox build...7.01 from last night.. still having this problem. thanks.
Since the last major SqueezeNetwork update everything is allright with my favorite Live365 stations: Celtic Moon, Highlander Radio, Winterscapes, Dryad Radio. Absolute synchronicity.
I am still having this problem. Can someone tell me how I can get the latest live365 plug-in? Is there a setting in live365 where you specify if you are a VIP listener? My controller is showing the "free" stream titles of songs, but what plays is the VIP stream. Is there a workaround or a fix coming for this? I see this problem shows RESOLVED and FIXED...but this is still happening. Any suggestions or debugging hints? Thsnks.
Are you running SC7? You don't need to do anything for VIP streams, if your account supports it you'll get it. For debugging, use plugin.live365.
Created attachment 3296 [details] SC7 server log after attempting debug for player.playlist
yes, I am running SC7. I asked slim support (anoop) to help in debugging live365 but I found it does not show up in the logging screen where debugging is turned on. Could you tell me how to turn on debugging for the plugin.live365? I tried to do a debug session using player.playlist...not sure if that helps. It is appended to this bug report.
Created attachment 3297 [details] shows all plugins that are in SC7 -> settings -> advanced -> logging is this normal..should plugin.live365 be here?
Yes you should see plugin.live365 there.
This started working yesterday with no action or any software update on my part. The only thing that makes sense is that something like a cookie expired and when it got new credentials, it picked up the right stuff. Thanks.
This bug has been fixed in the latest release of SqueezeNetwork! If you are still experiencing this problem, feel free to reopen the bug with your new comments and we'll have another look.
