First off big thanks to Tony for hanging in there with me. 

Take an album and put track one in its own directory, put track two in its own directory, track three ... etc. Then clear and rescan, then browse artist or albums, you'll see an album for each song in a directory.

it is a slimserver requirement that all tracks in an album must be in the same directory. This has come about from the need to manage multiple albums of the same name (the Greatest Hits bug)
