Description Ivan 2006-10-17 01:21:05 UTC
SlimServer Version: 6.5.1 - 10354 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252
Server IP address: 192.168.0.104
Perl Version: 5.8.8 MSWin32-x86-multi-thread
MySQL Version: 5.0.22-community-nt

This happens with FLAC transcoded with bitrate limiting set, and Lame installed. Watching the track remaining time, it is clear that SoftSqueeze 3.2.1 truncates anywhere from 10 to 25 seconds at the end of the songs. This occurs with transcoded FLAC as well as MP3 (say from 192kbps to 128 kbps).

This does NOT happen if an MP3 file is sent native (nat transcoded to another rate) to SoftSqueeze.

I think this started happening after gapless MP3 playback was introduced. Reverting to 6.5.0 solves the problem.

Additionally, reverting to 6.5.1 b10207 also fixes it.
Comment 2 Chris Owens 2006-10-25 15:31:37 UTC
Do you know if this also happen with hardware players (like a Squeezebox) if you have any? Trying to verify it's a Softsqueeze bug and not a Slimserver bug.

I just tried b10511--same problem. I switched my SB3 from no transcoding to transcode at various MP3 rates. Same problems. So it doesn't look like it's only on SoftSqueeze. :(

Just tried 6.5.1 b11131, and this problem still persists. Transcoded tracks (FLAC to MP3/MP3 to MP3) are truncated anywhere from 2 to 7 seconds at the end.

Question to developers--this was all tested with Lame 3.96.1. Does the Lame application version make a difference?
