Description Ken Jordan 2006-10-08 17:12:00 UTC
I downloaded and installed the latest 6.5.1 build (see below), i cannot synchronize my 2 players on the music from my live365 VIP login anymore. They both stay in 'connecting...' mode and never complete. However, if I make them non-synchronized and turn the squeezebox off/on, they then work fine (individually).

This sync'ing of live365 used to work with the 6.3.1 s/w. I'd appreciate feedback on this issue? way to fix?

Thanks

cc'ing Andy in case he has any immediate advice. I have not yet tried to reproduce this.

Using trunk 6.5.1. Sycned 2 players, played Rockland USA from the web interface. Both players played in sync, no problems.

Same result from the player UI.

Ken, have you sent email to support about this issue? They may be able to get it resolved, since it seems to be something specific to your setup.

What is it that you'd like to know about my setup (server or either player)?
Any debug I can turn on and/or log files to send?
I've tried sync'ing up from via the web and via the players but neither works anymore.

Ken

Alright, I turned on debug and played around with logging and some settings via the server and now the players are sync'ing up ... as I've written a lot of code for a number of companies (some startup, some not) and worked in the industry for a long time doing lots of intensely fun debugging, i'm not entirely surprised but i also cannot tell you right now what got it over the hump. I can send you log files if you like... but more than likely we can close the bug and i'll follow up if it rears it's head again or I figure out what caused it. If by chance you have an unending curiousity let me know and I can get logs or do some testing. Otherwise, thanks for following up. Ken

Ken, could you be more specific about this solution. I have the same problem.

Both sync and Live365 have been totally reworked for SlimServer 7. Please test a nightly build of SS7 if you are having issues, this won't be fixed in 6.5.x.
