Description Idsert Joukes 2006-10-01 05:53:47 UTC
Server UI in 6.5.0 @ main menu / random mix displays the amount of music genres (and numbers these) but does not show how de genres are named. Next to that "main menu/random mix" does not show all the random music possibilities...

This is the result of an old template that did not get removed during upgrade. Please look in c:\program files\slimserver\server\Plugins\RandomPlay\HTML and remove the Fishbone and Default directories there. only EN should remain. A couple browser refreshes and you'll be fine.

The latest nightly builds are now properly deleting older templates like this. You can upgrade to one of those, or wait for the next release (6.5.1).

I'm posting back on the bug report because this really should be handled in bugzilla, not by sending replies through email (that setup is just not working)

I made suggestions becuase, to my knowledge, this is already fixed. Yes, I've seen your screenshot. I saw it in the original report. I don't doubt that you see it, I just doubt the state of your system currently.

other things to try:

complete clear library and rescan from server settings.

if that doesn't work:
erase c:\program files\slimserver\server\HTML
erase c:\program files\slimserver\server\Plugins
re-install 6.5.0 or a 6.5.1 nightly build, from
http://www.slimdevices.com/downloads/nightly/latest/6.5

KDF's suggestions are basically manually doing some of the things we are planning to do automatically in Slimserver 7.0, so they do often solve real problems like the one you're seeing. If his suggestions don't improve things, what kind of files do you have? MP3, FLAC, others? A mix? And the GENRE tags in the files are sane? :)

Yep,
Files: (only) MP3
Genre(s): sane? I would think so (see screen shot)

Idsert

actually, looking at the screenshot again, I've noticed that the random artists text is missing as well. That confirms it for me. This is an old templat. The old templates used ARTIST for the string token which is now CONTRIBUTOR. As such, you get the blank line instead of the translated text for Random Artist.
