Bugzilla – Bug 4232
Playback does not resume after player is switched off
Last modified: 2009-01-29 09:47:23 UTC
I'm using the current revision of trunk (10040) on FC4 with an SB3. When playback resumes after powering off the SB mid-track, only that track is played. i.e. playback stops when that track is finished. My SB is configured to pause on power off and resume on power on. Steps to reproduce 1. Play an album (from the web interface) 2. Let it play a few tracks 3. Turn the SB off mid-track (one press of red button) 4. I left the SB off overnight, but I'm not sure if this is necessary to trigger the bug 5. Turn on the SB. 6. The track which was playing when the SB was powered off plays from where it was stopped but playback then stops, i.e. the rest of the album is not played.
Andy fixed a bug yesterday involving pausing of transcoded tracks. Might these have been transcoded?
I don't *think* the tracks were transcoded. I just tried to reproduce this with my Transporter and found I couldn't actually set the player preferences to resume at power on so I can't verify if this is still a problem.
This does sound very much like the transcoder bug I just fixed. I can't reproduce with either native or transcoded tracks using the latest trunk.
I just got Andy's fix for the preference problem. I cued up a few tracks (Random Mix, actually) and set it playing. I powered off, then back on again. The track resumed on power-on but stopped at the end of the track - the display actually went blank so I suspect the server may have crashed at the end of the track.
server.log file show anything?

This seems to be working OK now. Close as fixed.
