Description Ross Levine 2006-09-19 16:57:44 UTC
I have verified that the netgear WPN802 access point with any firmware other than the original firmware (1.0.4.0) Squeezeboxes fail to connect. Squeezebox sees the SSID, attempts to connect and fails. I'll attach an ethereal capture of my SB3 successfully connecting to the WPN802 w/ firmware 1.0.4.0, and another ethereal capture with my SB3 failing to connect to the WPN802 w/ firmware 2.0.8.0 (latest).

Richard could you look at these and see if it's sane to fix this for 6.5.1? Or if the problem is even clear?
Comment 4 Richard Titmuss 2006-09-26 08:43:00 UTC
I have had a look at the traces, and the problem is not clear. I have ordered an access point, and will look at this again later in the week.

I have been expiriencing intermittent connectivity with the WPN802 (with latest firmware update) and the Squeeseboxes (2 & 3) running SlimServer6.3. However, I just upgraded to SlimServer 6.5 and now there is NO connectivity with the Squeezeboxes (2 & 3). They are both unable to find the wireless network.

This bug is fixed in firmware sb65/tr19. It is currently undergoing internal testing. You will be notified again when it is made part of a nightly release.

I'm ready to verify this, but I can't find our WPN802... has anyone seen it?
Comment 8 Chris Owens 2006-10-12 14:20:36 UTC
Oh I know where it is. I sent it to Richard :)

What is the status of this bug?
Comment 10 Ross Levine 2006-10-31 18:13:59 UTC
Fingers could you try updating the firmware on your Squeezebox with our latest nightly build of SlimServer downloaded and installed?

http://www.slimdevices.com/downloads/nightly/latest/6.5/

This bug should be resolved with the new firmware.

So, does that mean this is now fixed?

Also, I have attempted to install 6.5 four times now, and each time I could not get Slim Server to work.

I originally reported this bug, the thread says it was fixed in sb65 though I didn't check until sb firmware 67 from the nightly downloads -- my WPN802 firmware is now 2.0.8.0 -- it solved all of the issues I had, no installation issues. THANKS A TON GUYS!!

doesn't work for me....

Removed 6.3.1
Downloaded and installed 6.5.1
Slim Server worked for a minute
Now will not launch upon startup
Cannot launch manually

Fingers this sounds like you could be suffering from bug 4299. Could I interest you in trying the latest 6.5.1 nightly? Our support team reports it has helped a number of users with similar symptoms.
