Bugzilla – Bug 4120
Changing from one encryption method to another often requires factory reset
Last modified: 2008-12-18 11:42:31 UTC
I'm probably one of a very few people that sees this since I switch from one encryption method to another to another during testing. For example if I have WPA2 set up, and I switch to WEP 64, it "acts" as though it's going to connect, letting my select the SSID, correctly identifying that it's now a WEP SSID, prompting me for my WEP key. But then it times out trying to connect. If I do a factory reset, though, it will work.
WPA1 -> WPA2 also
will look at this post-7.0
Fixed in rev4532. Will be in SB fw 107, TR fw 55.
Verified to be working in 7.2 - 22869
